Dr. Jasmine B. Harris

Dr. Jasmine B. Harris brings more than 25 years of school experience to her current role as Head of School. After gaining experience at all levels of K – 12 education as a teacher and administrator in large public school districts in Texas, Jasmine was recruited by The Hockaday School in 2005, where she began her career in independent schools. In her role as the Director of School and Community Relations, she spearheaded parent education programs and faculty recruitment and assisted with the School’s equity and inclusion work. In her subsequent role as Director of Admission and Placement at The Lamplighter School, she was responsible for all aspects of admission, including recruitment, re-enrollment, financial aid, and fifth-grade placement.

Dr. Harris has visited schools across the globe and is passionate about making her own impact in the community she serves. As a faculty member of the Admission Training Institute, Jasmine provides training to over 100 new admission professionals from across North America annually, and functions as a mentor in this role as well. She has served as a member of the University of Texas Education Scholarship Committee, is the past President of the Independent Schools Admission Association of Dallas, is the past Board Chair of the W.H.O. Foundation (Women Helping Others), and is an active alumnae member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Jasmine holds a Certificate in Non-Profit Leadership from Southern Methodist University, a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Texas Woman’s University, and a Doctor of Education from Baylor University. A native Texan, Jasmine, her husband John and their two sons now call Florida home.
